DEADLINE: 18 October 2024
TSNRP invites presentations of nursing research and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) projects for its annual Research & EBP Practice Dissemination Course to be held in San Antonio, Texas on 18-20 March 2025. The event is in-person only with no virtual presentations or attendance.
This popular education course for military nurse scholars features keynote lectures by military nursing leaders and nationally known clinical experts. Plus, you gain an opportunity to present the latest advancements in nursing science, whether its a research study or EBP project. TSNRP sponsored Research Interest Groups (RIG)s also hold in-person meetings and presentations -- networking opportunities to connect with counterparts across all service branches.
New Submission Requirements
For 2025, submission requirements are streamlined while enhancing the peer-review process. Previously potential presenters submitted abstract descriptions of their research.
For the first time, judges will now be able to view the presenters' actual slide decks to assess the effectiveness of the dissemination effort.
First-time presentations of new research or EBP projects are strongly encouraged. Military nurses who wish to present will submit the following by 18 October 2024:
1) One PowerPoint slide on the course template provided in the online application
2) Signed PAO approval documentation from local command for the slide
3) Presenter bio
4) Presenter headshot, preferably in uniform
The official course PowerPoint template may be downloaded from the online submission application available at https://www.cvent.com/c/abstracts/4e00a496-5d0c-44cf-ab48-fb5248ea5da2. Simply create an account to access the application.
Judges will consider whether the single-slide presentation conveys the following topics about your study or project:
Problem/Background
Purpose or Aims
Intervention or Study Method
Results
Value to Military Nursing
TSNRP will send notifications to everyone who submits a presentation on 21 November 2024 indicating whether or not you will be invited to speak.
Helpful Tips
All presentations will be scored by a panel of nursing science experts. All judging scores are final, and will determine whether speakers are invited to present a 3-minute lightning round or 20-minute plenary session.
Speakers must be available to present in-person on 18-20 March 2025 in San Antonio, TX.
Incomplete submissions are not be considered.
Only 1 presenter per submission. A back-up presenter will be collected in the online application, in the event you are unable to attend. Team presentations are not allowed.
Videos may not be included on the PowerPoint slide.
PAO approval is required with your submission. Note: If you are retired military, we recommend:
If anyone on the research/EBP team is an active military member, we recommend they submit the presentation through their local PAO.
If the research/EBP was conducted within/in collaboration with a military treatment facility(MTF), we recommend requesting PAO approval from the PAO office at that MTF.
If there is no connection to military nursing, please upload a letter of request for TSNRP to submit your presentation to the Uniformed Services University PAO on your behalf.
This course is held in-person ONLY, pending the latest DoD and CDC travel guidance.
Note: There are no poster presentations at this event.
